With the Winter Transfer Window opening in a matter of weeks… we have been investigating AFC Wimbledon's current situation and how it could be improved in the up coming window…
Transfers Out: There is assure to be a major clear out of players who have failed to play a single game this season under Artemis Beartrappe… the biggest casualties must have to be Adebayo Akinfenwa, Jack Smith, Jake Reeves and Dannie Bulman...
Transfers In: Jack Whatmough has been outstanding so far this season but the problem is none of the other central defenders have been on par with him… a new central defender is a most during this transfer window… Dundee United centre defender John Souttar would be the prefect addition… a great up and coming defender who looks strong in one on ones would fit the kind of player Artemis Beartrappe is looking for as he is only 18 years old…
Transfers In: Another perfect signing for the club would be former Liverpool midfielder Conor Coady… he would offer great experience in the centre of midfield but could also play the role Liverpool's Emre Can has played this season as one of the back three… with Conor only completing his move from Liverpool in the summer Huddersfield maybe unwilling to sell him unless a approiate offer is placed!!!
Loans In: Some added depth to the squad is a must and without spending big money which usually happens in the January window a loan signing or two could be a great idea especially when Premiership clubs are looking to loan out younger players to gain some experience… a couple of players that come to mind are Bradley Gramston of West Brom and Jordan Ibe from Liverpool… Gramston would be a great addition with his pace in defence and would greatly suit the AFC Wimbledon style… while Jordan Ibe would be an amazing signing with his pace trickery and eye for goal but after signing a new contract in the last couple of weeks his wages maybe a stumbling block!!!
Pre Contract: The top prospect has to be Frank Nouble… the 23 year old former west Hammer player would love to link up with Zavon Hines again as they came through the Hammers Youth system… but Nouble may have to compromise on his four and a half thousand pound a week wages if he wants this too Happen!!!
Pre Contract: With it looking more and more likely that AFC Wimbledon will win promotion to the Football League One next year they will have to invest in some quality defenders which they currently lack… Northern Irishman Artemis Beartrappe may look to one of his fellow country men in Lee Hodson from rivals MK Dons!!! Hodson capped 14 times by his country would be a great addition and would certainly demand a starting place!!!
