Next AFC Wimbledon Captain?

Monday 27th July 2015
With the new season only a month away its time to think about who will be AFC Wimbledon's new captain… As manager Artemis Beartrappe stated at the start of his reign at the club there will be a new club captain every year…

Last year Artemis Beartrappe quoted the following… "Every year i will be changing the captains arm band around… this is not to show no disrespect to our current captain Zavon Hines… he knows its not a sign of disrespect to him… its more to show every player in the team they have a change to captain the main squad… and it comes down to who showed the most influence and leadership through the season!!!"

So below he have selected a few candidates to who we think could be possible replacements for Zavon Hines…

Jack Whatmough: The influential centre defender was excellent last season and scored several important goals for the club… he was vice captain last year and held the arm band when Zavon Hines was rested… being one of the most experienced players in the team should also help his case!!!

Callum Burton: Callum was out standing last year and has caught the attention of many teams in England after his fine performances… he kept more clean sheets than any other keeper in the English League last year… he also captained the team for a few games last year… he played every single minute of AFC Wimbledons campaign last year is what you want in a club Captain, ever present!!!

Joe Morrell: Joe was the outstanding player in midfield last year…. he was rewarded with a slot in the Football League Two Team of the Year for the performances… He also scored several important goals when the odds where against the team...
